Please feel free to take a look around, get to know me and examine the work I do.

I’m a big people person, I’d love to connect with you on Instagram or LinkedIn and hear what you thought about my portfolio.

TALKING SHOP - ELECTION 24

During a bumper year of elections, I played a key role in planning lots of BBC Look North’s coverage. During the campaign we let working people set the agenda as part of the BBC’s Your Voice Your Vote story brand. Take a look here at my highlight from the election - when I got to read Good Housekeeping while getting my hair done at a beauty salon.

WHAT DO PEOPLE REALLY WANT TO SEE IN THE BUDGET?

Ahead of the chancellor’s spring budget, I was sent to find a diverse group of working people from across our patch and ask what measures they really wanted to see announced. The result was four people, different ages, different backgrounds, and with different priorities ahead of the fiscal statement.

EUROPE’S BIGGEST CORNER SHOP?

New housing plans put forward by Gateshead Council would see houses built around brownfield land surrounding the Metrocentre shopping mall in Gateshead. It’s simple - rather than spending extra cash building essential services for new estates, these houses would be a 10 minute walk from all the services already available at the shopping centre. In turn the Metrocentre sees new customers coming to live right on their doorstep…

JESS EDGAR, F1 ACADEMY.

Jess Edgar is a racing driver from Cumbria. In 2023, she took her racing career to the next level as part of the inaugural season of the F1 Academy. A new female-only racing series, developed to help more girls get into motor racing. I went to meet the 18-year-old at her home track in Rowrah, Cumbria.

A NEW FUTURE FOR BIRTLEY POOL?

We’re all familiar with the story of councils cutting services to save costs. But when Birtley Swimming Pool in Gateshead was slated for closure members of the community stepped in and looked for a way to keep it going. Their solution, a process called community asset transfer. I went to investigate what CAT is and how it could work for Birtley.

THE COST OF LIVING, AT UNIVERSITY

As the cost of living crisis gripped the country in winter 2022/23, I took a look at the impact the crisis had on students in the North East, and the drastic measures some where taking to keep warm and save money during the chilly winter season.
